Initially, To Bind Ourselves to This World was a short-term summer project, created in July 2013. Launched with a deadline of 35 days, the idea was simple: a collection of photographs, quotations, videos, and ideas that I found intriguing and therefore inspiring, posted with the hopes of inspiring others too. I’d been feeling overwhelmed at the time, commuting to and from work each day to arrive home exhausted at night, wondering if my own creativity was washing away. In that sense, this blog was created as therapy for myself—a desire to keep inspired in a world of constant movement—but it functioned as more than that too, as a way of hopefully spreading some thought and comfort to any readers and followers who graciously agreed to listen (or, in this case, read and see).
As of November 2014, I’ve begun the blog again. Currently the goal is to post for 61 days, into the new year, but who knows how long it will go? Perhaps longer than that. Thank you for visiting To Bind Ourselves to This World and hopefully the images, words, and sounds present here affect or inspire you in some way. There’s a lot of beauty in the world and a lot of color. Sometimes you just need to step back and take it all in.
